Locations list 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello!

I need help.
The eWeather component author missed a lot of interesting locations. For example, try to install Australia and see the error. Yes, the file is missing.
On the author site, many people posted missing location files. Many others added entirely new locations.

Because my site is for world wide users, I should have all the world locations available. But even searching around seeking for new locations, some will still be missing. Like some cities that weren't listed before on weather.com and are now.

Do you know where can I get a complete worldwide list of locations with its codes? I'd do the rest, like creating the needed files, sql inserts, etc.
I've even been searching on the raf weather module code to try to figure out how you parse the location name into the weather link with the location code, but found nothing...

Please help.
Thank you!

Hello.

I've checked the link and found some good information. But unusable to my specific case... there was a link that would return the location code, but I'd have to know the cities names.

Luckily, yesterday I found a similar weather module, but for php-nuke. This one seems to have a more complete list of locations and codes. It was a hard search. I've been around this issue for months! I've even contacted a lot of people, including weather.com. BTW, you were the only one that answered me.
The problem now is that the data files are, naturally, in a different format. I have to figure out a way to parse it, compare with existing locations, and insert it into eWeather. But at least I got the data. I was about to quit.
